Crafting with your 2-year old

The other day, my son looked bored out of his mind here at home. He didn’t want to play with his toys or go outside, and I didn’t want him to watch any more television. I had to figure out something different, so I asked my wife if we had any construction paper and a glue stick. We were in luck. I brought my son to the kitchen table, grabbed a piece of white paper from the printer, and started cutting strips of colored construction paper. I showed him how to apply glue to the colored paper, then stick it to the white paper. He caught on after a few examples, and started gluing away. He was having a good time, so I kept cutting more shapes for him.

Next time your child is bored, break out the crafts, and remember to keep it simple!

Here is what I used:
3 colors of construction paper
1 sheet of 8.5×11 paper
1 glue stick
1 pair of scissor

This crafting works well for a child that is 2-years and 9-months old, feel free to get creative and adjust the complexity accordingly for your child(ren).
